What to bring

  • Comfortable walking boots, ankle high or taller, with thick socks
  • Odorless sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 or higher
  • Binoculars
  • Personal medication (Any prescription medication must be accompanied by a letter from a general practitioner. Any over the counter medication needed can be obtained from local pharmacies. We advise all our clients to split prescription medication between your checked in luggage and carryon luggage in case of luggage lost.)
  • Raincoat NO LIGHT COLOURS
  • Insect repellent is advised
  • Long pants - NO LIGHT COLOURS
  • Shorts
  • Short sleeve shirts - NO LIGHT COLOURS
  • Hat / Cap - NO LIGHT COLOURS
  • Spare rifle and scope
  • Soft nose and not solid copper type bullets, and no FMJ ammo
  • 110/220 Volt Adaptors-specifically for Africa (220 volt), (To charge anything from the USA, you need the USA 3 pin adaptor/s with 3 ROUND PINS to fit into South Africa wall socket. )
  • Small torch or flashlight which uses AA or AAA batteries (easily obtainable locally)
  • Small backpack to carry items like binoculars and range finders that you will need in the field
  • Passport
  • Visa if required
  • Bring 2 copies of your passport, air tickets and visa if applicable (one will be kept by the company)
  • Personal cheques, travellers cheques, credit cards and some cash for minor expenses
  • Letter motivating temporary import of your firearms into South Africa for hunting purposes
